The special initiatives theme aims to use VICS funding to help seed applications for major projects such as a bid for a Centre of Excellence. VICS initiated the successful bid for the ARC Centre of Excellence in Free Radical Chemistry and Biotechnology. The special initiatives funds are being held in anticipation of a future Centre of Excellence application.
