I started working with Dulux Orica Australia whilst I was a 3rd year student for my 4 week placement period. This was followed by short term employment throughout the summer of 2003. After I completed my honours degree in 2004, I was employed working full time in the Market Focus Group.

My career in the surface coating industry has continued since then, I work for BASF Australia, my position is mainly involved with formulating new and improving currently existing products in the market. I also investigate some customer complaints and provide technical support. I enjoy what I am doing because of the continuous challenges - I am able to use my knowledge and skills whilst learning new things.

I chose to do the Bachelor of Formulation Science at Monash because I knew I would gain so much knowledge about how to develop a product from scratch and how to improve product quality (in order for a product to maintain its existence in the market.)

I will never regret my 4 year course (Bachelor of Formulation Science and a one year honours program) and I would recommend it to anyone. By studying this course, you have the opportunity to gain experience working in different companies through the practical placement program. This means that by the time you graduate, you've got a good picture of the world out there. In the future I would love to see my career excel and continue to learn new things. If I'm lucky, I'd like to establish my own commercial business.
